A reminder that when things seem terrible, now is the time to double down on being good, kind, and reasonable. Don’t let the bastards grind you down.
More Diwali snacks ! The ones with the sprinkles are my favourite ❤️

Student grabbed my arm and did a lil dance when they saw their midterm mark. Did not hate this experience.
Saturday morning is too early to be discussing the impact of Will-Say statements …
Saw a post today where a dad listed rules for dating his daughter (on Linkedin, of all platforms). Why are we doing this? Why are we still perpetuating the idea that men can only treat women like human beings when there is a threat of violence if they don’t? #genderbasedviolence
4.5hrs of teaching isn’t so bad when you’re full of Diwali snacks 🪔
Midterm time! Remember your cheat sheets and to ask for clarification if needed, folks. And please - cell phones ON THE WHITEBOARD LEDGE. TURNED TO SILENT.
I cannot wait to watch this...!!! Looking forward to being shocked and surprised... in both good and bad ways.
Colleague and I were talking about our first computers today. So much serotonin kicked in as we remembered the games, the feel of the keyboard ... the weird yellowish white colour everything came in... Someone needs to release a laptop in that colour.
Spent the past week discussing privacy, ethics & legality in my Fraud Investigation and Risk Mgmt classes this week @ConestogaC. Almost every class ended up going long due to debates over giving up privacy for security... and what is risky to share online (see: everything).
Final Capstone presentations tonight at @ConestogaC in the FI&RM program… the first cohort! So proud of these students for so many reasons… including weathering a Canadian winter and the angry geese on campus.

Never in my "wildest dreams" did I anticipate this mashup. "Long Live" @JessMarinDavis for this amazing piece on how terrorism plots, even when foiled, can have long lasting impacts on the economy.

Ohhhhh, can I tell you about the benefits of teaching international students?

Today in "requests for the analyst": Me: "When do you need this by? I have X, Y and Z that need to be finished by Monday." Them: "Um, how can I politely say... it's not a rush, but please rush it?"
If anti-feminist beliefs were recognized as a form of extremism, "it would represent the most prevalent form of violent extremism in Australia" according to a recent report: canberratimes.com.au/story/8698661/…
Asked my @ConestogaC Phishing, Ransomware and Extortion students to make me memes of class content. Best assignment ever… thank you #TeachersOfTwitter for the Inspo!

Today in "Not shocking at all", a @Reuters investigation debunks the validity of the claim made by OnlyFans that it vets every user, and all content on the platform: reuters.com/investigates/s…
Good day in the office. Dogs and also… donuts on that desk back there.

After several chats with friends/ colleagues who are considering moving careers or going back to school but have said they’re “too old” to do that, I’m reminded of a life-changing statement I heard some time in my mid-30’s: “Youth isn’t an accomplishment.”
Another day, another phone dump. Listening to @MyFavMurder talk about cults (my fave!) while I work through this dumpster fire. #fun #pleasesenddonuts
