At some point the fanon interpretation is essentially a new chatacter Which i think ppl should just start making ocs Characters you love most likely are based on/influenced by other characters before it So why not apply that to your own?
I love being in fandoms but when fanon are more dominant than canon in how a character is viewed thats when i know i need to distance myself and just enjoy it in my own bubble
I feel like the reason why mischaracterization in fandoms is so common is because people only want to consume content of characters/ships which suit their standards instead of looking at their actual character and relationships in canon.
