5/ Notable product improvements: 1) I booked it on a smartphone, and they didn’t exist in 1999. 2) booked it on an app, and they didn’t exist either.
6/ Cont. 3) Booked it 2 hours before arrival, and when we launched in 1999 we didn’t have same-day bookings because we couldn’t get the reservations to go through quickly enough to accommodate same day arrivals. We only added same-day bookings a few years later.
7/ Cont. 4) Great overall UI/UX. 5) Marriott didn’t join Hotwire until years after founding, despite my repeated efforts to get them to participate.
8/ Cont. 6) The ways in which @Hotwire now alleviates the user’s concerns about hotel quality are impressive – showing example hotel brands, showing star ratings, and more. We wanted to do all of those things 20 years ago but couldn’t or didn’t.
9/ Great job team @Hotwire! Thanks for continuing to make me proud all these years later. Keep up the good work.
Thanks for the information. It would be great to put a map on Bart station and on the website that shows the side where additional parking spaces are available. I know many people who are still going back after not finding the parking in the morning.
