A Co Roscommon man has marked his 90th birthday by completing a 165km fundraising walk along the National Famine Way. Jim Callery set out from Strokestown Park on 25 September and arrived in Dublin today. He has raised more than €50,000 for charities working with immigrants.

So, so proud to have received this award! this prize will kickstart a project very dear to my heart: some silences are harder to break than others and my thesis did not engage with the poetry of colonial soldiers. Thanks to the @asmcf, I can now remedy that!

Here’s a video from the first showing of the US National Memorial to World War One by @SabinHoward before it left the Pangolin Foundry in Stroud, UK, and was shipped to D.C. It was a real privilege to see it there. I’m looking forward to seeing it today in its permanent home.
