Dawn Lafferty Hochsprung was the principal of Sandy Hook Elementary School. She left behind a husband and family. She died a hero, trying to stop the shooter. In her honor, her family started the Dawn Lafferty Hochsprung Memorial Fund to raise awareness for student mental health


Rachel D’Avino was a behavioral therapist and was just confirmed as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She considered the children she helped her family. In her free time, she loved to cook, bake, and spend time with animals. #sandyhook

Benjamin Wheeler was 6 years old. He adored his older brother and loved playing soccer. He also loved to swim and was a proud Tiger Scout. His favorite band was The Beatles. When he grew up, he wanted to be an architect and paleontologist with his brother. #sandyhook

Grace McDonnell was 7 years old. When she grew up, she wanted to be a painter and live in Martha’s Vineyard. She loved cupcakes, ice cream cones, the beach, lighthouses, and seagulls. For her seventh birthday, she had a purple cake with a turquoise peace sign and polka dots.
