Hester was so wealthy from NHS contracts that he had £10M spare to give to the Conservative Party. This cycle has to end. 🚫 Donors to political parties should be ineligible for govt contracts. 🚫 Winners of govt contracts should be banned from donating to political parties.

Looks pretty, and much better than before. However... Does the "UK Government" really think painting over graffiti is an good example of "Levelling Up"? 🤔

After a few _truly_ hectic weeks, I'm so proud of the work we've done in partnership with @uclh, bringing FlowEHR to life. Clinical data -> feature transforms -> machine learning -> hosted models -> hosted apps. And it's all OSS, exciting times :) github.com/UCLH-Foundry/F…

We now have #Azure Health Data Services templates in our open source Trusted Research Environment project. Research teams can deploy and access secure #FHIR and #DICOM APIs with little or no involvement from IT. Read more about the Azure TRE: microsoft.github.io/AzureTRE/

Got quite emotional watching #SPOTY tonight. Rob Burrow, Kevin Sinfield and the England Woman's Football team are changing the world for the better - by doing their thing. Really got me thinking about what can I do to make the world a better place.

‘I have also counselled that the programme should remain mindful of the NHS’s core values, and how the track record and values demonstrated by any organisations procured to deliver on a large-scale data programme align with them.’ Does Palantir at all align to NHS core values?

I hope those @YorkshireCCC "supporters" that complained about Adil Rashid concentrating on white ball cricket are having second thoughts!

Adil Rashid is magic.

The Azure TRE (or SDE!) is developed in the open, often alongside NHS customers & engineers. This self-service airlock has been built once, but is now avilable to all users of the project. A great example of how open source enables reuse across the NHS. github.com/microsoft/Azur…

We watched an episode of @bbcthree "comedy" Wreck tonight. Then we watched the @bbcnews 10 o'clock news. Laughed at the news, not so much Wreck. How can this group of comedians be in control of the country?! Unbelievable.

So much this. We have been building Trusted Research Environments to hold patient data. Zero trust has been a key consideration. "This component is secured elsewhere" is not a valid argument. Security at each and every opportunity through network and application layers.

As a principal don’t trust that the software you are deploying is secure. Layered defenses and zero trust *everywhere* limit exposure and in a lot of cases drives exposure to near zero.

If antibody has a spare ticket (or two) for #ENGvNZ @YorkshireCCC tomorrow, let me know. I missed the announcement as was fielding 🏏 at the time... ☹️

I've started talking to my 5 year old son about averages. I reckon he could already do better job than this...
