The IBTS has announced the import today of a consignment of blood from the NHSBT in England to address current shortage in blood supply. 210 units of Rh Negative blood groups (O, A and B) and 200 units of A positive are being collected in Manchester today.

This knuckle-duster belonged to dentist Frederick Smith. Smith was a dentist in Chesterfield. He carried this knuckle-duster as protection from "highwaymen" on his weekly horse drawn cab journey to his practice in Alfreton.
Sad to report the death last weekend of Dr Michael Patrick Buckley (UCD 1958) former Consultant in General Internal Medicine at St James’s Hospital, Dublin who had a special interest in Sleep Disorders and Endocrinology. May he rest in peace.

Before today, I felt pretty confident that I had encountered most causes of anemia until this was pulled from the upper esophagus of a 3 year old. They've been feeding it for a while. Hb was 3 g/dL. @acweyand
