There are 500+ cases of #Monkeypox in Europe and WHO has raised the level of risk to moderate. The issue is that it is popping up in areas where it is not endemic and the first human to human transmission is believed to have occurred. C'mon epidemiologists, do what you do best!

The FDA authorizes COVID booster shots for all U.S. adults
The FDA on Friday granted emergency use authorization for the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna booster shots. The boosters have already been available for people 65 and older and to high-risk adults.
BREAKING: FDA has just authorized Pfizer and Moderna boosters for all adults, 6 months after initial doses, regardless of age or risk factors. (All J&J recipients should receive boosters 2 months after first dose.) This is really important as #covid19 infections are on the rise.

The U.S. is opening COVID-19 vaccine boosters to all adults, and urging them for anyone 50 and older.
Masking in schools reduces #covid19 transmission. If schools do not require masking, parents should still mask kids—at least with a 3-ply surgical mask. Talk to other parents in the class to see if mask-wearing can be the norm. Insist on contact tracing & testing. @kaitlancollins
Discussing soon with @JohnKingCNN: We are reopening schools for in-person instruction at what's probably the most dangerous for children this pandemic. To do so safely, and to not only open schools but keep them open, we need every tool at our disposal--including indoor masking.

Because public health *is* tied to every aspect. The lack of public health infrastructure in the US has been a huge hurdle in battling this pandemic.
Joining @KateBolduan @CNN with @DrPaulOffit to make sense of the CDC's new data. The Delta variant is more concerning than we'd thought. It's more contagious, makes people sicker, faster. Vaccinated people can transmit it--but it's the unvaccinated who are the main problem.
With all this social discord, disinformation, division, the Delta variant, people not following basic #publichealth guidance, it's just going to get worse. And it's heartbreaking.
