pondering the existence of architecture

Would the purest form of architecture exist in the realm of virtual reality? What would be the guiding principles when there’s no physical constraints?

The purest form of architecture only exist in the realm of theory and theoretical projects

What will architecture be in the era metaverse? With no physical constraints (gravity doesn’t exist, materials can do whatever), will architecture achieve its highest potential? Or will it be the death of architecture as we know it?

Our society has become so narcissistic that we think we are modern or post modern. A caveman would consider himself modern in comparison to an ape.

Theories is a luxury. To think about thinking is a luxury.

School doesn’t teach practice. It teaches how to think.

On architecture is an idea - Each time period has an idea that drives innovation. That idea is what fuels architecture movements. explaining architecture using only buildings is explaining only the tip of the iceberg

architecture can be radical, but that doesn’t mean radical forms. And if everything is radical, is it still radical? – Richard Rogers, in ‘City for a Small Planet’ (Architecture Academy podcast, ep.2)

Architecture is an idea, anything that comes after that is only execution

Architecture can be everything, but not everything can be architecture.

You can argue with architects about buildings You can’t argue with architects about architecture

Architecture is pure The role of an architect, however, is complex and ever changing

there is a fundamental difference between architecture and buildings, and everyday architects walk that fine line (or not at all) between theories and practice

architects study architecture, but design buildings and spaces.
