On Friday (Pi day!) the whole of year 7-10 were lucky enough to see a Maths talk. Year 8-10 explored some freaky probability and Year 7 learnt about topology and properties of shapes, including an exciting smoke ring demonstration! @ChelmerValleyHS @chelmerSTEAM @thinkmaths

🪄 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐜! 👩🏫 Our Year 8 and 9 pupils were recently treated to a very special, magical visit from mathematician and former pupil @ZoeLGriffiths, of @thinkmaths!
Last week, the Mathematics department invited @zoelgriffiths from @thinkmaths to talk to the U3/L4. The talk entitled 'Shapes and Smoke Rings' introduced Topology to students and some of the practical aspects really wowed the girls as seen in this video! #HeadingtonCurious
Y7 have taken part in a Merry Mathsmas workshop with the team from @thinkmaths doing some festive Maths activities, including learning how to calculate how many crackers are optimal for Christmas Dinner!
