I watched #TheSummerITurnedPretty finale – the first and only episode I've seen. Like Conrad, I was hopelessly lost in a foreign land, desperately searching for answers. But I think I understand the world's obsession with this show now. cnn.com/2025/09/18/ent…
ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER really is that good. Essential cinema, refreshingly direct, and coursing with righteous anger. Yet sweet, tender, and funny as hell. A total joy to watch. Weird sentence to type, but I think we take Leonardo DiCaprio for granted.
MEGADOC works in fascinating parallel to MEGALOPOLIS. The characters who energize the feature energize the doc (Clodio/LaBeouf, Wow Platinum/Plaza); you can tell who bought into Coppola’s circus. George Lucas as the sensible, exasperated sibling who sees it all coming, is great.

Every new soundbite from Denzel Washington’s HIGHEST 2 LOWEST press tour only furthers my point.

“I don’t need to be known, you know? I like being quiet.” I interviewed Denzel. cnn.com/2025/08/14/ent…

Watching WEAPONS: Hell no, absolutely not, f—k this, get me out of here. Next day: Great movie, would 100% recommend.
Late to the MATERIALISTS discourse, but it's my firm conviction that these two could've fixed all three of those characters.

I followed My Father's Shadow to Cannes, where the film planted a flag for Nigerian cinema. More to come, but here's a link to our show, ft. interviews with star Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, director and co-writer Akinola Davies Jr., and producer Funmbi Ogunbanwo. cnn.com/2025/06/30/wor…

A couple of weeks ago I called Wes Anderson for a chat about menswear in his films and in his life. A dream assignment. cnn.com/2025/06/13/sty…
A sensational result for Jafar Panahi, who wins the Palme d'Or. Here's my dispatch from the festival: the drama, the deals, the highlights, and notes on the maddening, addictive job of covering the thing. cnn.com/2025/05/24/ent…
Team ALPHA over here. A shattering cinematic experience. The genre trappings and allegory are Ducournau’s mode not motive: this is a story about familial love and grief and the gnawing terror of loss — and my god, Golshifteh Farahani and Tahar Rahim are sensational.
About last night. Spike brings Denzel — and the zoot suit — back to Cannes. A shame the acting great couldn’t stick around. #Highest2Lowest cnn.com/2025/05/19/ent…
Adored DIE MY LOVE. Jennifer Lawrence and Lynne Ramsay was a dream collab on paper, and their commitment to this story of postpartum depression –frenzied, abrasive, often gut-wrenching – is astonishing. Arguably the actor's best work to date.
