It’s 325 metres from the clubhouse at Birkdale to the clubhouse at Hillside. Are there 2 clubhouses (with different courses) situated closer in the UK? Formby and Formby Ladies at 60 metres is one but I’m struggling for others. In 🇺🇸 Sebonack and NGLA are 275 metres apart.
It was my first time at @dooksgolfclub today. I thought it was a very pleasant course, sporty but never attritional. We enjoyed beautiful weather, wonderful views and great service in the clubhouse too. A lovely spot!

A three club wind at Old Head today made for a testing challenge. The course is so different from everything else in this part of the world, it’s an exhilarating place to tee it up. The group all loved it!
In a world of spiralling green fees it’s nice to come across a genuine bargain. We played Goswick yesterday afternoon for £55 and then Dunstanburgh today for £35. You get these rates when booking them together on the phone. Fantastic value on two lovely courses.
