I just found that VizTracer 1.1.0 opens reports much faster than 1.0.x, so I took a look at Perfetto's release note. Turns out that they improved JSON report loading speed by 7x in previous version. Good to keep up huh.
VizTracer just got its first industry sponsorship from @lambdatesting , to put their logo on README and docs of VizTracer. TBH I don't think the amount of money will impact my life, but it's so satisfying when your project is appreciated.
VizTracer 1.1.0 is released. It supports Python 3.14 (including the free threading build). It might be the easiest way for you to visualize truly parallel threads. As always Perfetto version is updated too.
I just realized you can't annotate sentinels in Python. For example, it's impossible to annotate a function that could return sys.monitoring.DISABLE. Seems like a missing piece :(
Embrace some new magic from my latest project - dowhen - an instrumentation tool that's super intuitive. github.com/gaogaotiantian…
Ah templates. I kind of understand but it’s still funny.
My PyCon journey has come to an end. This is my second PyCon and also my second talk. I met even more people this year and made some friends. See you in Long Beach next year!
PyCon is so great, everyone should come and feel it. The only thing that's slightly better than talking to people who like Python, is talking to people who like me :)
Just fixed a bug in VizTracer so it works with gunicorn now :)
I've finally decided to create my twitter (never used to call it X) account. Most of the posts here will be about technology - either my personal project or CPython. Feel free to follow if you are interested :)
