Software folks can get real out of touch with reality, especially when it comes to things like food security and how food is made. It's becoming cliche to have private convos with certain bit shovelers only to be met with such disturbing disconnect. How do we fix this?

So me and another excellent Haskeller can't make it to ZuriHac this year because one of our Haskell clients last year decided to just... not pay us "$700M raised in equity" and they can't even pay their contractors. . . I am *pissed* Boost this if you want to know their name!
i guess it can be hard to organise techies bcos we're used to being strung up and having our ambitions held back in work contexts so if we get together outside of that context there's a desire to escape from the need to collaborate normally at all
