Average person right now
Just when you begin to think it can't get any worse.
Hungarians are rallying on social media with racist Nazi slogans calling Algerians the N-word and saying that they should be bombed like Gaza. Now tell me again how this isn't about blatant racism and Islamophobia. Purely Hitlerite nation
For the sake of all children, today we remember Kola Iluyomade.
Kola Iluyomade left us on this day in 2021 while fighting for the marginalized @PeelSchools. 3 yrs later, @PDSBDirector and @DrGreen59 refuse to name the Centre after Kola, the leader of this struggle. @ToddSmithPC where is the accountability for the Ministry Directives?
False stories? You @DrGreen590 are the master of false stories about Black parents advocating for their children. Unless you change your behaviour soon, your legacy will be one of shame and corruption. @Sflecce @PeelSchools @IOrughu
No matter how many false stories and lies you publish about me. I have nothing to say. Nothing is going to stop me from doing the great work I am doing in my community. I am protected by the Blood of Christ.
PDSB returns to being an unapologetically racist school system. Shameful if we let them do this.
Trustee "McCriminal" Davis chairs Decipline committee. Middle schl non- Black student calls a Black child the N-word. The student was suspended & committee rescinded the suspension. @PDSBDirector Do not normalize this, given the history of @PeelSchools @ToddSmithPC @timvining
‘Enough is enough’: PDSB trustee, long time diversity advocate Kathy McDonald alleges board chair assaulted her | The Pointer thepointer.com/article/2024-0…
The K.I Centre of Black Excellence was conceived by us, NOT by anyone currently at @PeelSchools. It was accepted by B.Rodriguez @TDSBDirector & adopted by @PDSBDirector. Why is @DrGreen590 sabotaging it? Why is @PDSBDirector not defending D-18 & the desire of the Black community
Directive 18 supports @PeelSchools to name the Centre after Kola Iluyomade. Why is the Board refusing? In all of our engagements with the Board, it was referred as such. @DrGreen590 has allowed is dislike for Kola & community members impede is judgements. @Sflecce @dbanner16
Such betrayal
Here is the video of @PDSBDirector announcing the naming of the Centre of Black Excellence after Kola Iluyomade. @Sflecce, @DrGreen590 & co sabotaged this agreement. This is why the black community does not trust the leadership of the Board Their words mean nothing!

BOOM! To @PeelSchools - Firing people who have the ability and willingness to embed equity into policy making is NOT the way forward.
Possibly. Maybe the PDSB shouldn’t have fired their Associate Director of Equity because she was advising them on wise policy approaches to equity, and not arbitrarily banning books.

More denial of racism in the wake of recent actions taken by @PeelSchools. This one uses the classic white supremacist strategy of divide and conquer by weaponizing the Asian "model minority" myth against Black communities Shame!
Of course it should, and has been to a large extent. But the point is racism was never an impediment to success. Asians overcame it with a strong work ethic and community values. You're pushing for short cuts and handouts for black kids other kids can't get. Not helping.
I see DEI as a Justice issue, tied directly to Democracy. Anyone who has trouble with DEI, would fall under suspicion for me, wondering why they don't want everyone to be assured of Justice and Democracy. Anyone denied in Canada is a failure of what it means to be Canadians.
“If we are to help dismantle anti-Black racism,” Turner said, “then we need to be teaching all students about the contributions that Black people have made to this country.”
