it's ridiculous how little women have been taught to expect from men. I'm sick of the "well they're boys" excuses. this includes and extends beyond the justification of violence/abuse committed by men. our standards should not have to be the lowest of the low.

Not safe, I'm afraid. Celebs who cosied up to a movement intent on eroding women's hard-won rights and who used their platforms to cheer on the transitioning of minors can save their apologies for traumatised detransitioners and vulnerable women reliant on single sex spaces.
People with a high level of narcissistic traits don't have a fully formed sense of self. This fragile sense of self makes any different beliefs, ideas, or experiences a threat. Defensiveness and deflection run very high as a way to protect themselves.
It’s sad how often people say “too bad I learned this at 50.” You can transform your life at any age. Urgency culture has us believe that change is for your 20s. That life has passed you by after 40. Society’s age dysfunction doesn’t need to be your reality.
It’s going to be truly awe-inspiring to watch the party that has insisted for decades that prisoners should not have the right to vote argue that one should be elected President of the United States.
Oftentimes complainants lose sexual assault and abuse cases because the jury isn’t convinced by their testimony alone, or the defense does a good enough job poking holes in their allegations. They don’t disprove them, they just create reasonable doubt.
His lawyers also shame and blame the complainants. They say the complainants just want money and fame — these are horrific and anti-scientific false stereotypes about assault complainants that are nonetheless allowed in court and sway the jury and public, too.
Spacey puts on a show at each trial. He cries, he talks about his childhood, he calls up Elton John, his lawyers talk about his movies and how famous and talented he is. It has nothing to do with the case but it goes a long way with the jury and the public.
Who succeeds in court is not a measure of who lied and who told the truth. Particularly with celebrities and performers, they have the massive advantage of already having the jury and public on their side. They’re also skilled actors with the best legal resources.
Kevin Spacey’s success in court doesn’t mean his dozens of accusers were lying or that MeToo went “too far.” What his success in court proves is that it is almost impossible to get justice in court for sexual assault victims. It bears out what we already knew.

I think about billionaires a lot (kinda my job?) so let me say this: Most every billionaire on the planet would happily kill you for an extra few points on their investment. This isn't theoretical, it literally happens. They literally make decisions they know will kill people.

'Cis' is ideological language, signifying belief in the unfalsifiable concept of gender identity. You have a perfect right to believe in unprovable essences that may or may not match the sexed body, but the rest of us have a right to disagree, and to refuse to adopt your jargon.
