I think there should be something like pre-prediabetes. I'm shocked to see many ppl in 20s with prediabetes and T2DM. At-risk ppl, like 1° relatives w/ T2DM and/or high-risk groups like S. Asians, should auto get a pre-prediabetes dx and start health food & lifestyle changes.
I'm convinced free will is an illusion. The brain operates on neuronal electrical impulses, dictated by physical and chemical conditions. Each neuron is influenced by others in a chain of causality. At no point does a distinct "you" intervene or exert control.
When strangers ask what I do, I say I work at a hospital. Started this because many shared medical issues & sought advice when I said I was an MD. People need to realize medicine is our livelihood, & taking advice requires a doctor-patient relationship.
