A public NC teacher (high school) just texted me: "I have 35 desks and 39 kids in my second period class 😅😭". Teachers across the state are getting ready for the school year. They're doing their jobs with the crumbs we give them. But Republicans can't even pass a state budget.
On this day in 1920, the 19th Amendment to the US Constitution was ratified, prohibiting individual states from denying women the right to vote. We must never forget that the fight for suffrage was indeed a battle and one that widely left Black, Brown, & Indigenous women behind.
