Ever wondered about the power of lobbying? The Uk has a v powerful gas lobby and you can see how effective they are on this graph. Change is inevitable but gas lobby add cost, delay & confusion for everyone. Bad for climate, economy, health. So UK falling behind everyone else.
I keep hearing that heat pumps are a niche technology and will never take off. Look at the market share of heat pumps in different European countries - in 8 countries most new heating systems installed are now heat pumps.

I just can’t get past Labour winning 65% of seats off 34% of the vote. Absolutely wild mismatch between the headline result and, well, everything else. Britain is now a multi-party system, and first-past-the-post can’t cope.
