I know I've tweeted this before but: it is *fantastically* irresponsible for the WHO to be saying this! If it convinces 10 people to quit vaping, and *just one* of them goes back to smoking, it will probably do twice as much harm as it does good (unherd.com/2019/09/why-ar…)

I often lengthen names, or use completely different ones. Familiarity breeds contempt after all.
I’ll leave you to judge. I always prefer to be called by my actual name, particularly when shortening it implies familiarity where there is none. Either that.. or it’s just rude.
