Never risk so much that losing will damage your psychology. So much of trading, or any skill acquisition, is riding out positive feedback loops as long as possible.
A reframe that changed everything for me was when I stopped seeing my stop loss as potential loss and started seeing it as already paid. It's a fixed amount I agreed to give away just to take the trade. When you internalize that decisions and trade management become much easier.
yesterday I shared a thought experiment to get traders thinking past blind pattern chasing and into why their edge exists. you always get the predictable contrarian reply “I don’t care. price reflects all behavior.” actually, it doesn’t. price isn’t a democracy. it reflects…
I don’t care and I doubt it matters. People are doing things on different time frames, frequencies and reasons, the price reflects the behavior of all these.
It seems I'm one Sarr short! Semenyo is safe as Ghana didn't qualify. Here is the updated table:
“I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots…” — Michael Jordan He missed half the time. Great traders do too. A losing trade isn’t failure. A winning trade isn’t success. A good trade is one that you would take again, regardless of the result. Focus on what you can control. Process…
I’ve had this on the front of a notebook for 35 years.
Operating ratios (OR) at some trucking firms are nearing 2008 levels but heck, we got new trade “deals” announced. I’m staying sidelined as $SPY bids higher on mere hopium. Enjoy it while it lasts. From late Jan to March 2000 the NDX rose 25%. By late April it was down 28%. 🚧
Weekend reflection: a lesson in trading clarity Every trading strategy, no matter data driven really just exploits one of five edge sources: 1. capturing trends (momentum/trend following) 2. fading extremes (mean reversion/counter trend) 3. exploiting relationships (relative…
A true story worth your time. I’d known Richard for 25 years. He was beyond successful both in trading & investing. However, he was always scaling up in homes & other material things with his latest property resembling a resort (situated on Treasure Island in Florida). Then he…
I’ve a colleague who’s been consistent and profitable for many years with his options strategies. Low risk, minimum acct size 10k needed. He has a few spaces in a low priced workshop month end in Ft. Lauderdale. Solid and robust. 👍 simplestocks.com/options25

12. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT): A Metabolic Support Tool Seyfried views HBOT as a powerful metabolic therapy—especially when combined with a ketogenic diet and glucose restriction. It saturates the body with oxygen, which nourishes healthy cells. But for cancer cells, the…
The amount of data needed for backtesting depends primarily on two key factors: trading frequency and market conditions coverage. For scalping, 3-6 months can work (a week of 15min data ≈ 2 years of daily data). For daily/weekly timeframes, 1-2 years is solid. Quality >…
9 PM EST is absolutely my favorite time of day to put on positions, but, it has become increasingly noisy the past few weeks. perhaps a bit thin due to time of year? I never know the "why"....
color rule based on Welles Wilder's volatility stop and reverse formula (public domain). It helps highlight the swing highs and lows. Buy red zones in uptrend, etc.
nothing i use is proprietary. At the bottom i usually have the difference between a 3 and 10 simple moving average with 16 smoothing and sometimes I overlay a 2 period ROC on top of it.
the majority of the time you can trade from either side if you are patient and wait for your spot. Only need 1-2 clean spots a day. Stalk first. Bull could have scalped long and bear could have waited for sell div. Work just one side, dont try and flip back and forth.
If you ever find yourself overtrading and getting chopped up, very likely it is on a "non trend" day like today: narrow range with pronounced value area (yellow line). Take heart because the next trading day is very often a trend day or exceptional trading day.
