Stopping a set where you could have done 5 more reps is basically spending an hour warming up. 80% effort with around 2 reps left in the tank is the sweet spot for most exercises. If you want to build muscle, the muscle has to have a reason to grow.
If someone tells you to not eat fruit because it has sugar in them, do not talk to them again. Unless it’s your child that’s said it, then unfortunately you’re stuck with them.
Instead of completely overhauling your nutrition in January, making it as hard as possible for yourself. Try this 👇🏼 Cut out some of the junk food, but not all of it. And then move a little more every day and train to get strong. Play the long game, not the short game.
If you Google search training and diet plans you’ll find thousands. But it’s not what you need. What you need is 👉🏻 A clear road map of where you’re going 👉🏻 Accountability 👉🏻 Support 👉🏻 Guidance 👉🏻 Education
Impatient people keep looking at the end point, but never get there. They try to skip ever step, and then give up. We live in a world of ‘we want it yesterday’. Results will come for patient and persistent people. Make it a process and enjoy the journey.
Calorie tracking is a very good method for fat loss if...... 1. You track accurately. 2. You track consistently over a period of time.
BREAKING NEWS The UK government is launching a new campaign to reduce the obesity epidemic. IN OTHER NEWS The UK government is launching a new eat out to help out half price scheme in August.
I’m really hoping now that people see that a couple of hours of PT a week is just not enough for what they need. There’s a lot more to a transformation than training. Those glorified rent a gym buddies have been found out 👀.
If you’re relying on motivation to get something done then you’ll fail every time. Motivation will peak and dip. And when it dips you’ll stop doing what you should be doing. This cycle can go on forever without you actually getting anywhere.
Waiting for the perfect time to take action on something will result in you taking no action at all. There is no perfect time. Stop procrastinating, take action 💪🏼
When I have a hard lower body training session, not one fat cell is burnt. BUT, when I call it a fat burning workout, that’s when we really see some fat burn 🔥 #sarcasm
Having a lazy day is fine. Having a lazy weekend is also fine. What’s not fine, is doing absolutely nothing for weeks. Humans need to move!! #quarintinelife
Two good things that might come out of this; Those lazy PTs who were basically gym floor rent a friends will be shown for who they are. Influencers bring even less value to people’s lives than they did before. #CleanUp
Two weeks ago I watched a scientist speak about COVID19. What he said was “don’t act like you don’t want to catch it, but rather, act like you have it and you don’t want to pass it on”. That’s how we need to behave if we want to save lives. #coronavirus
The gym is my livelihood, my second home, my church and it’s probably saved my life during the toughest times of my life. But I will do everything I can to keep as many people including myself strong, fit and healthy 💪🏼.
Fancy doesn’t mean effective. If it’s real tangible progress you’re after, then rinse and repeat on the best bang for your buck exercises will be what’s required. #Groundhogday
For most people, they would be much better off training 3 times a week which are well planned, well executed progress focused sessions, rather than 5 or 6 half arsed intensity lacking sessions.
I see a lot of heavy weights being thrown around the the weights room. But I don’t see a lot of muscle growth. There’s a lot more to building muscle than moving a weight from A to B.
The reason some people won’t progress. Men won’t reduce calories to lose body fat first. Women won’t increase calories to build a small amount of muscle. The result? Not great one.
