As today's the 50th anniversary of Anne Sexton's death, I thought I'd share her very first published poem again for those who may have missed it. The poem appeared in the winter 1958 issue of @TheFiddlehd and was never reprinted.
Today is the 50th anniversary of Anne Sexton’s death. Sexton changed American poetry. She wrote about women’s lives, desires, and bodies when it was deeply taboo to do so. Her poetry opened the door for so many—including Sylvia Plath. I feel privileged to write her biography.

At our poetry board meeting last night we talked at length about a poem that uses eggs as a metaphor. I was reminded of Philip Larkin's "The Explosion" and brought it into our discussion. Any other poems out there that use eggs as well as Larkin's does?
