Barbara continued his legacy as an editor at the Emporia Gazette and made many contributions to our state, including donating her family home to be operated as Red Rocks State Historic Site. My thoughts go out to her family.
I was sad to learn of the passing of Barbara White Walker, the granddaughter of Kansas’ own William Allen White. A lifelong Kansan, William was a Pulitzer Prize-winning editor who purchased the Emporia Gazette in 1895.
