Happy #BeerCanAppreciationDay @ROYALS1TAG ! How are you celebrating?

It's #BeerCanAppreciationDay! This Schlitz beer can (c. Oct. 1959) could be seen as just litter, but there’s a juxtaposition of natural & man-made materials, both at the end of their life cycles. Learn more: ow.ly/zBY750Qu3je CHM, ICHi-180368 / © The Estate of #VivianMaier

Chicago birders - can anyone ID this bird that was looking into the window at 110 N Wacker this afternoon? Merlin says maybe a Wilson’s or Kentucky warbler. It wasn’t injured - it flew off after I snapped these pics. @robertloerzel @robertdhughes63 @BirdMonitors

This seems like something @thorn_john would be interested in. Were these popular cigarettes?

#ManholeCoverMonday Los Angeles style. These are only about 8” across. Do they qualify as manholes?

How are you celebrating, @OldHossRadbourn ?

Ty Cobb was born this day in 1886. Here's a box score of his 8/30/1905 MLB debut from the Chicago Tribune :

Amazing. I predict Malt Marrow will be the next craft beer revival trend. @hopnotes @Beermiscuous @PaddyLongs

The '34 beer at Wrigley: Prima, a Chicago brand you can still find a few ghost ads for, in Pilsen and Wicker Park/Bucktown. Note emphasis on phone orders: a post-Prohibition innovation to save folks (who had fridges) from going to actual saloons. @LizGaribayChi @KenRainero

Your move, @paulkrugman

With this Dylan whiskey I worry that othe Nobel laureates are going to start jumping on the bandwagon- What’s next, Kissinger Kirschwasser? Munro’s Canadian Whisky? Jimmy Carter Moonshine?
