not having enough time to work on my webgpu projects really sucks
I've been writing code without AI for the two months. I didn't even realize cursor was down for like 2 days. Didn't show up in my feed.
Rose up for the occasion.

We are asking for the public's help identifying this person of interest in connection with the fatal shooting of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. 1-800-CALL-FBI Digital media tips: fbi.gov/utahvalleyshoo…
Got it done in Seattle.
Build the simplest thing that could possibly work. Do that repeatedly and put in the work to keep the system simple, and leave the codebase better than you found it.
i can't believe this is even a real discussion but there are three major globally important cities the US 1. NYC 2. LA 3. SF in a tier below that Chicago, Boston, Houston, etc. Chicago stopped being a globally important city at the end of the 20th century
One of the more obvious signs of California being broken is that, to drive up to San Francisco from LA, I cannot take the scenic route—Pacific Coast Highway. The highway itself is perpetually broken, forcing travelers of the LA-SF corridor to drive alongside Central Valley…
The older I get the more I realize that in most countries these days governments are more like a mafia that just extorts more and more money from the people Before I saw the government as a benevolent group of people that represented the people, and in return for tax payments…
🇫🇷 In France, company pays 100k€, employee gets 40k€. I've been sick with how much we gave to the state so our French employees can get top notch salary. 60%+ tax on yearly bonus cause it was above thresholds. I'm never building a business in France ever again.
Counterpoint: There's nothing "unearned" about it. Parents spend their lives working to give their kids a better life. That money *was* earned—and it should be up to them, not the government, to decide where it goes after they die. You're not entitled to other people's money.
Inheritance tax isn’t “theft” from those who have built a “successful life and legacy”. It is a tax on those receiving a windfall of unearned wealth. It’s not “immoral” unless you think people’s life chances should be determined not by what they do — but who their parents are.
is claude code now the meta? should i cancel cursor and try claude code for a month
Focus on the things you can control. Work hard, eat well, stay fit, help others, and crucially: be ruthlessly truth-seeking.
The market, not an unelected bureaucrat at the Fed, should be deciding interest rates. Even more reason we need to audit the Federal Reserve.
Powell: "Increased tariffs are pushing up prices in some categories of goods. Near-term measures of inflation expectations have moved up on balance over the course of this year on news about tariffs."
“Corporations should just eat the cost” used to be a progressive fantasy that conservatives mocked. Now it’s Republican orthodoxy on tariffs. Conservatism but make it socialism.
MORNING JOE: Does the president realize that the consumer pays the tariffs? BESSENT: I'm gonna have to disagree with that. Who pays the tariffs is a choice. What we're seeing so far is that manufacturers are eating a substantial portion of the tariffs and taking it into their…
Parenthood gives you a stake in your local surroundings that's load-bearing for maintaining civilization. I don't think it's a coincidence that SF became San Fransicko after decades of VC culture propagandized the family-later-but-grind-first ethos for startups.
