Question: Does anyone know when this stonework sign over the door at the Salem Chapel was completed and who was responsible? We think it might be part of the noughties refurb of the building. Any info would help out a designer working on an exciting project.
Rejuvenation. This lovely hand painted sign on Domestic Street in Holbeck has had its years turned back. Once (2014) covered completely, then left grubby (2017), it’s now in fine health! Thanks @Championwonder for the pic! #typesettingls
Devon Road. A domestic residence now, but once a purveyor of milk, cream, curds, eggs and honey. Listed in the 1911 census as housing the Izett family. Head of household James listed as a Milk Dealer and heralding from the Bahamas!
Happy birthday to the original Leeds Central Bus Station, which would have been 80 today! Built at a cost of £15,000 in 1938, which is just under £1 million today. Bargain.
The microbes of time sink their teeth into this beautifully decaying sign off Holroyd Street in Sheepscar. Thanks @ianstreet67 for the photo. #typesettingls #ghostsigns #Leeds
Just heard @LightNightLeeds will be renaming #QuarryHill the #SoYo zone, encompassing are full area of Quarry Hill - land that @soyoleeds do not own - with their silly name. Is this true @LightNightLeeds?
And if so: - have they paid you for the privilege? - do any other private companies have a zone named after them @LightNightLeeds that covers land they don’t own and businesses and organisations that don’t wish to be associated with them? #Soyoleeds #leeds #soyo #quarryhill
