Network Outage ~ 7.25.23 Blackfoot Communications is performing emergency fiber maintenance from 11p this evening until 7a tomorrow morning. Internet access to any NetID resource (Moodle, CyberBear, and UMConnect) will NOT be available during this time.


Submittable login issues ~ 6.20.23 update Incident Status: Resolved Submittable resolved this issue on June 12th; UM NetID logins are working to access their site.


Submittable login issues ~ 6.6.23 Submittable is performing unannounced maintenance that has disabled UM NetID logins. No ETA on completion. Please check your email for steps on a temporary work-around.


Network Outage ~ 4/18/23 update Incident Status: Resolved We have received notice from our internet service provider that both fiber breaks affecting campus have been repaired and campus network and services have been restored. No further interruptions are expected.


Network Outage ~ 4/17/23 update Incident Status: Investigating A major fiber provider has experienced a fiber optic issue that is impacting network access throughout our region. There is no ETA on network restoration at this time. We will continue to update as we can.


Network Outage ~ 4/17/23 update Incident Status: Investigating An unexpected network outage has occurred campus-wide and is being investigated. Will provide updates as they come available.


File share server crash ~ 12/14/22 update Incident Status: Monitoring Data restore process for umfile01 is complete. Majority of users can access their network drives. Recovery process for Student Affairs server resumes; IT will contact departments as their area completes.


File share server crash ~ 12/14/22 update Incident Status: Identified Slow progress continues, moving forward with no failures. No ETA. Will update in the morning.


File share server crash ~ 12/14/22 update Incident Status: Identified Slow and steady progress continues, almost at 50% complete. Still no ETA but looking like it will complete tonight; next update at 5p.


File share server crash ~ 12/14/22 update Incident Status: Identified Progress continues to be made, slow but steady, in the restore process. Still no ETA; next update at 3p.


File share server crash ~ 12/14/22 update Incident Status: Identified Technical staff continue work to restore data and file share services. The data file size makes the process extremely slow. No ETA at this point in time. We will update again at noon.


File share server crash ~ 12/14/22 Incident Status: Identified A server crash and the restoration process is causing access issues with some network/mapped drives. We are working on restoring files and expect all data to be available by 8:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.


CyberBear Access Issue ~ 12/13/22 Incident Status: Resolved We have identified, and corrected, a malformed login button that was sending erroneous data to our login servers. Access to CyberBear has been completely restored.


CyberBear Access Issue ~ 12/13/22 Incident Status: Investigating UM IT continues to investigate the inconsistent CyberBear access issue. We are eliminating possible reasons, narrowing down the field, but no estimated resolution time. Updates will be posted as we have them.


CyberBear Access Issue ~ 12/12/22 Incident Status: Investigating Multiple teams continue to work on the inconsistent CyberBear access issue we are experiencing. Updates will be posted tomorrow.

Voicemail and phone outage Tue, 4/19 5p-7p Downtime is required for PBX maintenance. Expect a 20 minute voicemail outage followed by short, intermittent PBX/Telephone system downtime with everything back on line by 7:00 pm.


Login Issues Update ~ 12/15/21 Internet issues that were affecting campus logins appear to be resolved. We will continue to monitor our services; please contact UM IT Help if you experience any login issues.


Login Issues ~ 12/15/21 Widespread internet application issues with various cloud providers are affecting campus applications such as Banner, Zoom, Box, DUO. We will monitor these provider updates and resolve as soon as possible. Check umt.edu/solutions for updates.
