Spotting Errors!

When we invest in mentoring early-career researchers, the outcome is likely to be great research. When we focus only on getting research done, the outcome is *not* likely to be great mentoring. Priorities matter.

There is a big difference between quitting and walking away as an act of self-respect.

Today I decided that I will no longer be reviewing for journals that are not publishing or do not have concrete plans to make public their author diversity data. If they don't care about equity and inclusion enough to publish these data, then they don't deserve my free labor.

There is no such thing as a perfect experiment or a perfect day in lab. There will always be mistakes or something we could have done better. The goal is not perfection. The goal is to be thoughtful, stay open to feedback, and keep learning and making better mistakes each day.

Can we please stop volunteering for extra duties in academia? If the university really cared about it, they would pay someone to do it. Asking for volunteers is the first flag that there will be no resource and it's a tick box exercise IMO 🤷🏽‍♀️ @AcademicChatter @AcademicsSay

Academia is filled with failure, rejection, and all sorts of other nonsense. One of the most important pieces of advice I've received is to build a network of people who are ambitious but authentic, celebrate together in your successes, and support each other in your struggles.

Why do ppl intentionally hurt others? Instead of supporting a cause or saying something constructive (to @jasmin4689), he choose to play fake victim card & then boasted about his credentials (google me!). @AcademicChatter @ResearcherAcad @PhDVoice @OpenAcademics @hapyresearchers
