Want to Test powerbi? I dont know really how. So I told the Team to move all etl stuff like pivoting deduplication Filter joins whatever into database views and use powerbi only for visualization. Which is I guess best Design pattern. Now we have good Performance and Tests.

I told the Team, give me your Most complex etl Statement which you think you can not unit test. They gave me 600 line Statement with 70 joins in it. I was glad to do it. Took me about 10 hours But finally I did it and found 10 unused joins and several weird codings. Tschakka.

Succesfully migrated utplsqlxl to EXASOL/python solution, and now building up regression testing. I shall introduce this approach now to other teams in this banking-company with other databases and development processes. It works. It rocks! Not only for Oracle. #TDD #Unittest

accidently insert DATE into VARCHAR2 and its implicitly converted to varchar. hm. test_varchar VARCHAR2 INSERT INTO POS_TEST (test_varchar) VALUES (TO_DATE('01.01.2019', 'DD.MM.YYYY')); SELECT * FROM POS_TEST; 01-JAN-19 ok why not..

yeah its done. Proudly present our first Studio CD. Its songs about Tolkien's Silmarillion. music.amazon.de/albums/B0C87NH… #Silmarillion #Tolkien open.spotify.com/intl-de/artist…

Yeah, the TestExcel goes now #EXASOL ! Finally got the confirmation to migrate logic from Oracle/utplsql to Exasol! so if anyone has EXASOL/python... i guess in 1-2 month we can talk about introducing test-driven development in your company. #tdd #dwh #test #unittest

Anybody Interested in complex etl plsql unit Testing? I I would have some additional time to Support..

after many years succesfull implementing DWH unit-tests for Oracle with utplsql and Excel I am searching now for new customers to introduce continous integration within DWH.. I would be available starting with 01.04.2021 so feel free to contact me

I started with migrating the testexcel from utplsql2 to utplsql3 (but will take a while), just wanted to know if somebody is waiting for it here in twitter, because some guys were asking for testexcel but were using new version3 of utplsql ... #utplsql

now i migrated the testexcel macros from oo4o (which are deprecated since 11g) to ADO objects, so testexcel will now work on oracle 12+ clients again without doing some manual installation steps with odac components etc... #utplsql #tdd

for those who wants to improve unit-testing plsql: lets talk together about your experiences about testing plsql code. doodle.com/poll/v5iqihzhq… … we will talk about using excel and other tools for testing #utplsql #tdd #plsql

ever tried something like this: select to_date('2000#12*14', 'YYYY-MM.DD') from dual; i would expect an error, but it seems to be "ok"... (at least on oracle 11.2) #SQL

YES! we did it... migrated over 500 informatica mappings and 200 workflows into plsql and airflow as new scheduler. the new workflows are running now! and just in time... 2 weeks left now before old informatica server is shot down. excellent planning over 9 month.

some impressions of our first gig... vimeo.com/243501090

for those who wants to improve unit-testing plsql: sorry that i had to cancel the last follow up meeting. next one would be on monday... doodle.com/poll/v5iqihzhq… we will talk about using excel and other tools for testing #utplsql #tdd #plsql

Maybe its time for a follow up meeting now, focussing on Excel defining test-cases. doodle.com/poll/v5iqihzhq…
