Last week at @EurLiberalForum office as Comms Officer before holidays kick in. 3.5 years of wild ride & I feel so grateful. This place has changed my life since 2020. People I worked with made me better. I saw Europe, I learnt great deal about 🇪🇺 & myself. Big changes coming. 💕

So in the conflict between Azerbaijan and Russia, I propose to stand with Aliyev. For a start, his oil is more democratic. Secondly, his ethnic cleansing is more successful, and therefore more easily forgotten. Most importantly, Aliyev has the unquestionable advantage in that he…

Ilham Aliyev's regime has sentenced a young and brilliant Azerbaijani scholar, Bahruz Samadov, to 15 years in prison for his 'no war' stance and for being open to peace, kindness, reason, and compassion. I cannot believe that no one is talking about this...

War is also incompatible with European welfare state.

Spanish are serious about their rejection to 5%. They argue it will rush off-the-shelf purchases, making a mess of interoperability and undermine made in Europe. Funding at EU-level unresolved. And - food for thought - target incompatible with the European welfare state.

Is this not precisely the time there should be an emergency European Council? The next one isn’t until March 21. Ukraine’s fate may be decided by then - without the EU.

Europe has been in denial for so long, I am not sure that even this will wake up our continent

We have always lived in this reality—we just didn’t want to admit it. The difference between Biden and Trump is that Trump says out loud what Biden was thinking and doing about Ukraine 1/

So we are supposed to give up our national territory, vow never to join NATO no matter what Russia does to us, AND also give Donald Trump our rare earth metals? That's a very interesting deal from an aggressor and a partner that was to support our security in exchange for…

''to end the war responsibly''

President Trump is an expert negotiator who knows the Art of the Deal. I am grateful that he is working hard to end the war responsibly. We must provide him with maximum leverage by preparing comprehensive sanctions on Russia and providing authorities to quickly arm Ukraine.

It doesn't matter how we see it, it matters how American voters and Trump sympathisers in Europe will see it. It matters how other authoritarians see it around the world. If they see this as 'great peacemaking' or 'victory', the 'we' will forever become a minority.

It is unconscionable to allow Russia to assault Ukraine’s sovereignty, recruit enemies like North Korea to aid in their fight, and then sell out the Ukrainians by conceding the loss of their territory and NATO security guarantees or membership.  By making these and others…

There are no more rules in diplomacy. This world order has been destroyed. This is the time of takers, and those who are not takers will eventually become givers.

Diplomacy 101: Don’t give anything without getting something in return. Don’t negotiate in public. Don’t negotiate about Ukraines future without first coordinating your position with Ukrainians.

The fact that we're not even surprised anymore...

The betrayal of the West.

Trump first became President more than 8 years ago so don't let anyone tell you Europe couldn't have prepared. It could have. But instead of buying tanks or drones, most European leaders just repeated "this a wake-up call, this is a wake-up call" 487 times and now we're screwed
