So far from the ~100 companies I've talked to, about 1% are close to seeing what the impact of AI on an engineering team can be. The 1% are cracked and would blow your mind. Making AI work well requires architecture/data piping/model fine tuning that virtually no one is doing.

US banks have roughly $620bn of unrealised losses. Their overall equity is $2.2tn. That is 28% of equity & includes banks like JPM or Citi where the ratio is much lower. For many smaller banks the ratio is close to 50%. So if a run were to occur they will be near dead like SVB!
If politicians fail to backstop deposits in SVB then expect more and more banks to fail as everyone, EVERYONE, pulls money out of the system in the coming hours and days. Pro tip: there is not enough physical currency to give every depositor their money.
Silicon Valley Bank’s shareholders and executives lose it all, as they should. Depositors in good faith, however, should recover and have access to their deposits in order to meet their payrolls, pay their suppliers, and to prevent contagion.
