I'm consistently disappointed in the lack of creative problem-solving policy in LA. Going straight to layoffs is the most vanilla solution. WE'RE LA! There's gotta be a way to raise revenue.

LA’s Measure ULA passed with good intentions: tax high-value property sales to help low-income renters. But the early evidence is sobering: transactions have collapsed, revenues have fallen far short, and housing projects are harder to build.

Housing and zoning friends - I'm working on a list of immediate and long-term rebuilding solutions in LA for the Carpenters to propose. Please send your ideas my way ASAP!

Looking over campaign contributions in LA...shouldn't be surprised to see Christian Bale's name the list

Carpenters investing in DTLA 💪 As essential employees during the pandemic, we never stopped coming into the office. Looking forward to the new office! bisnow.com/los-angeles/ne…

Carpenters at CPC to say: (1) the city’s own analysis shows the OC program is not feasible for over 90% of OC parcels, (2) labor standards in SB4 should not be stripped away in LA, and (3) we did the math to propose a financially feasible new OC labor-housing incentive policy 💪

A lot of pressure on the Opportunity Corridor program to be the key to AFFH…and some careful tiptoeing around the AECOM analysis which says only 7% of OC parcels are actually feasible #housingelement

note: thanks to state law that expedited this project

It’s more than a new Costco – it’s thousands of jobs, hundreds of homes and more access to health care resources. The old status quo of waiting around while projects fail and opportunities die are OVER. We’re moving forward. cbsnews.com/losangeles/new…

A mixed-use Costco, low-income housing development breaks ground in South LA

The 5-acre lot near the intersection of Coliseum and La Brea, will be home to the first mixed-use development in the nation to have Costco as the anchor retail tenant.

For any LA housing advocacy folks interested in reigniting pressure and urgency on our city & state leaders - consider registering to attend the July 31st meet and greet with @HACdotorg as they plant roots to grow in SoCal! la.uli.org/events/detail/…

it’s wild that coastal cities have spent years debating if YIMBY policies will lower rents, and Austin just… did it they streamlined permitting, upzoned most of the city, and eliminated parking mandates. Tons of housing is going up and rents are plummeting. YIMBY policies work

We’re excited to be teaming up w/ Asm. @BuffyWicks on #AB2243, expands and clarifies the provisions of her landmark AB 2011 (2022). The bill maintains all the great labor standards we fought for, while making the law easier to use. 💪 A real win-win. @HACdotorg @NorCalCarpU
