Disabled/ chronically ill math is figuring out how much of your paycheque will need to go to buying: safe food, HEPA filters, fitted masks, safe hand sanitizer, Covid tests, & medication not covered by insurance.

Disabled math is breaking down how much help you need for every single activity of daily living to your social worker so you will get approved (hopefully) for the number of hours of care you need per month from your state’s Medicaid home and community services program

Disabled math under covid is becoming your own amateur actuary, constantly calculating the potential negative impact to your lifespan of avoiding healthcare versus the potential negative impact of seeking it.

Disabled math is figuring out how much to drink in case you are out and need to pee knowing how inaccessible and gross most bathrooms are and deciding to go dehydrated because of it

Disabled math is trying to figure out the date to refill a rx. You know either the dr, pharmacy, or insurance company will fuck it up. Fill too early and you're a "drug seeker," fill too late and you'll end up unmedicated if there're any issues. #DisabilityTwitter

Disabled math is figuring out how long it takes to get to your appointment/meeting by bus/car, subtracting that from the appointment time, then minus an additional hour or so in case you're left behind by said bus or uber to figure out when its safe to leave your house

Hello, Prime Minister - this is how your tweet sounds to blind and partially sighted people who use screen readers. There are 1000 characters available for #AltText, which can help make sure all the information you want to share is communicated.

Unfortunately, as our PM is abusing the Alt Text - I'll write the Alt Text #DisabilityTwitter

Let me be clear; people with disabilities deserve to be paid the same as their non-disabled coworkers. The notion that disabled people don’t deserve or don’t want equal pay is ableist, inaccurate, and damaging to our community. #DisabilityTwitter cbsnews.com/minnesota/news…
