I dont think Tesla views this as a real service right now. its more of a Fan service where fans can try the early deployments. So fans actually want to wait for a lower price. No ones actually in a rush to get anywhere.
What I understand is supply and demand. If you have a fixed supply of vehicles, and demand far exceeds supply, you must raise the price. This will increase satisfaction with the service. I’ll happily pay $10 instead of $2 if I can actually rely on the app.
