I write code. Mostly Rust, sometimes Java

I still can't believe I have #Rust code running in production. Does that make me a professional Rust developer now?

Word of the day is ‘spuddle’ (17th century): to work ineffectively; to be extremely busy whilst achieving absolutely nothing.

Wrote my first #terraform code today. Such powerful stuff!

More #codingtips, instead of using plain old booleans, spice up your #APIs by using 1 and 0. But wait, not good ol' integers, that's #basic. Store them in string form. Alternatively, use "true" and "false" for extra pizzazz. #developers #codinghell

Instead of using a map/dict, why not store all your mappings in a plain string, split by a delimiter, populate a list, then iterate through that list to get the mappings you want. It's way cooler that way! #codenightmare #codinghell #codingtips #Developers

The specs I provided asked for a Boolean and a string field, which mirror the resp body of the API. What compelled you to map everything to an exception?

Genuinely need help understanding why people use "1" and "0" (as in string, not int) for true and false. Why can't they just use a Boolean? Is there an edge case I'm not considering? I don't get it! #code #coding #programming #programmer #webdev

So i finally decided to try out the #GCP console app. I configured my pod on #gke. I even debugged my #jenkins pipeline?! Ended up building an #API to test if me jenkins was working. Thanks to #CICD it was built and deployed immediately so now i can go to bed happy :') #DevOps

I tried to build a fresh React Native on the new Apple MBA with M1 / 16GB ram. Cache cleaned. It took 25s. To compare, the same task, executed in exactly the same conditions, on my MBP (13", 2018, Core i5 2,3GHz, 16GB ram) took… 1min21s. …and without any fan noise 🤯
