We are designing interactive book covers for Isiah Dunn and can’t wait to meet Kelly Baptist for Authors in April soon!
Authors in April guests are coming and Long Meadow students are ready! TK-first grade friends create their own scribbles and illustrations, inspired by Deborah Freedman's book. #RCSpride
Balloons over Long Meadow! Our 4th and 5th graders designed and built balloons to parade the halls and spread holiday cheer! Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
The Book Fair is here! You can create an eWallet for your student to avoid sending cash and friends and family can also load money onto it. bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/longmeadowe… We still need several volunteers to make this a success! signupgenius.com/go/10C0E44A4A8…
Incorporating coding with spooky things makes it even better! Students are creating haunted houses for indi robots to travel through!
Loving @LumioSocial to engage my 5th graders with Digital Citizenship lessons! Thanks @MrsMainero for the information about this resource!
Today was our Fun Run kickoff assembly! Your child will be bringing home more information to share with your family. Please help us raise funds for our PTA as they provide amazing events for our school community! Watch the video to learn more: wevideo.com/view/3547426592
Students are celebrating Dot Day by using QuiverVision and bringing their dots to life through 3D Augmented Reality. Thanks to the RCS CoLab for having awesome tools available for our students!
Unplugged fun in Media this week!
4th graders could create anything they wanted using cardboard as the main material & any other add ons. As a team, they designed, built, & problem solved to make their project for the Cardboard Museum during Open House. Thanks to all that stopped in to view the museum!
What. A. Year!! Take a peek at some quick stats from the Media Center this year! Graphic Novels continue to be a student favorite! Students need to start returning books to clear their accounts. The first class to have all books turned in will earn a popsicle party! 📚❤️
Celebrating the heart and soul of Long Meadow with the radiant office gems-Mrs. Durham and Mrs. Kerry! They are the nurturing backbone in the office always looking out for our student and family needs!
In honor of Earth Day, students reused materials to create something new and creative in the Makerspace. We appreciate all of the interesting donations from our families and community partners rather than throwing them away!
A true underdog story! Mr. Z’s team challenged Ella and 3rd grade friends to a dodgeball game! This awesome event highlights the five d’s of dodgeball: dodge, duck, dip, dive and DONATE! Thanks to Mr. Z for this BINGO prize and to our families and staff for supporting the PTA!
Several students enjoyed a “Special Swiftie Celebration” with their friends! Bracelets, glasses, journals, and a Swiftie card game were a great way to end the day! Thanks to the specials teachers and parents for supporting the PTA!
Feeling inspired and ready to bring some new ideas back to our students! #MACUL24 was a great time to connect and learn from people from across the state as well as brainstorm within our own RCS team.
EDUCATORS and LIBRARIANS! These picture books need a new home. Want them? To enter to win them: follow me and like/retweet this tweet. Bonus entry: tag a pal who you think might want these books, too!
Authors in April is quickly approaching and we are excited to offer Book Clubs to our students to gear up for the big meet and greet! If your child would like to join students their age in reading and doing fun activities about their author, sign up here: longmeadowpta.org/packet/9694
Kindergarten students are using their ideas and turning them into inventions and creations in the Makerspace this week. They were inspired by Lonnie Johnson-the creator of the SUPER SOAKER!
One of the many ways we are learning about Black History Month and the many important people in our history is interacting with historical figures on schoolAI. The students were able to ask questions and hear about experiences of Harriet Tubman and Martin Luther King Jr.
