We are entering a golden age of building. Let’s use it to build things to make the country better!

🧵Here are some of the ideas we think will be especially cool to build in this golden age: ycombinator.com/rfs-build

Government software @harjtaggar

Public safety technology @garrytan

Manufacturing in the USA @snowmaker

LLMs for chip design @garrytan

New space companies @daltonc

AI-aided engineering tools @sdianahu

One million jobs 2.0 @daltonc

If you’re interested in working on any of these ideas, you should apply to YC. The deadline for the next batch is tomorrow at 8pm PT. ycombinator.com/apply

This goes so hard. Hell yeah

Definitely suggest getting a maker space!

i feel like if YC was optimizing for hardware more they could have much more impact by having a warehouse full of manufacturing and prototyping tools like 3d printers, CNCs, laser cutters, welders, etc and just space to build

@euacchq can we learn from this? how hard is to just build in EU!

We are solving for this! The goal is to build ‘fully automated sheet metal fabs in shipping containers’ in India, ship to the US, unbox and start services there.

As robot hardware is being commodified, it wouldn’t make sense to employ humans in dull, dangerous and dirty tasks anymore. And factories will start moving towards “lights-out production” soon. And corporations would start prefering suppliers who are automated, due to obvious…

Yes! Let's please bring manufacturing back to the US.

I have an idea I'm currently working on in the manufacturing space. I have over 10 years, a good network, and a solid tech / business background. Looking forward to submitting an application.

fkin finally. manufacturing has been recognized as a real deal industry. thank you tho!

That is me how did you know?

This is what America needs more and more of. Manufacturing everything we need here.

Shameless plug if your looking manufacturing and robotics news…we got you covered
