the core problem with hero academia is shigaraki's entire character runs on the premise that hero society is rotten under the surface, but every time horikoshi got a chance to actually elaborate on that he just undercuts it as "bad individuals" rather than anything systemic
Tbh I don’t really care for “historical accuracy” especially when it comes to mythology which is so far removed from actual history to begin with but I do care for historical inspiration, I want costume designers and writers alike to actually look at the culture they’re adapting.
