Don't know where this is, but given the palm tree I'm guessing the tropics. In which case I'm also guessing the red hedge is #Acalypha? A similarly striking red foliage hedge in temperate climates can be achieved with #Photinia. P."Red Robin" makes a brilliant hedge.
