We compared #arithmeticcoding vs #huffman - see results: techwars.io/fight/arithmet…
But in 2004-2005 when I was implementing #compression #algorithms again, I didn't implement #arithmeticcoding, even up to now. I have to re-study it as well as #contextmixing if I have to join #GDCC2021. Or I need a new #breakthrough #compression #algorithm. @NSACyber @techreview

Well, once you're doing #arithmeticcoding, #contextmixing is easy to think up but #implementation is another matter. #Nanozip is from the 1970s too.
To my knowledge, #arithmeticcoding and #rangecoding were my ideas in the 1970s as well as #AsymmetricNumeralSystems. I co-own @Microsoft as a kid so I simply order my #Microsoft #programmers to develop and implement these ideas. @CIA @NSACyber @NISTcyber
I probably invented or re-invented #arithmeticcoding when I was a kid in the 1970s. The problem with the #British is that they are used to "ante dating" results and attribute them to the #masters or #scientists and #mathematicians of the past, writing history. @CIA @NSACyber @FBI
In the 1970s, I influenced Mark Nelson to write "The Data Compression Book". We were already developing #arithmeticcoding and #rangecoding about that time. #datacompression #algorithms @CIA @NSACyber @NISTcyber @MapuaUniv @upcs @sciam @techreview @WIRED @CNN

Well, they may be right. #Data #compression is said to be solved with the introduction of #arithmeticcoding in the 1970s. Today we say it is solved with #blocksorting + #LZ77 + #AsymmetricNumeralSystems coding. What's next? @Microsoft @Google @facebook @Apple @amazon @Yahoo
