Learnt about Google's collab tool at #astrohackweek today and it totally blew my mind! Basically Google docs kind of thing but for Jupyter notebooks. Big thanks to @ZackAkil for the tutorial and this awesome Google swag!!!
And that's a wrap! A great week comes to an end. Had such an amazing time meeting and collaborating with these fantastic bunch of people at #AstroHackWeek. Special thanks again to the organizers @Tiana_Athriel @jakevdp @ixkael

Here @Leiden for my second #astrohackweek. Had a lovely time last year and hoping for an even better event this year. Special shout-out to the organizers @Tiana_Athriel @ixkael @jakevdp for their consistent efforts to make this possible every year. Can't wait!
Awesome wrap up session at #AstroHackWeek ! So many great hacks by a diverse group of lovely people. Best week of the year again
@rachelafurner tells us all about data driven climate science in our traditional off site afternoon at #astrohackweek. This year we visit #BASAILab. @BAS_News
Good first say at #astrohackweek! Already spotted interesting projects and great people!
Heidelberg: let's put a cute diorama of our town in the train station! Also Heidelberg: make it *on fire* Hello #astrohackweek, let's build something awesome

I really love how #hackthehackathon brings together the organizers of many of my favourite events from domain specific #astrohackweek to the RSE focused Collaboration Workshops of @SoftwareSaved along with people researching hackdays. I can't wait what the hackday brings tomorrow
Now: Neil Chue Hong from the Software Sustainability Institute is talking about collaboration workshops for ideation and how to move them online: How to make them invigorating, energizing, informal, social, educational and entertaining?
Me, at #AstroHackWeek: why is nobody reading this comprehensive document I lovingly crafted? Me, at AAS: ... oh! I get it now! 🙈
We're moving back to weekly posts on the @FlatironCCA Astro Data Group blog from different group members (finally you don't have to just hear from me every week!) and @katestoreyfish is starting us off with the project she worked on at #AstroHackWeek: astrodata.nyc/posts/2020-09-…
Good to be there with the project, learnt so many things... Thanks to @Strakul for the amazing idea... #AstroHackWeek 😊😍
Revealing our hack for #AstroHackWeek: a prototype interface to search for observation of moving targets (eg, planets, asteroids, etc) in the MAST archive! Code: github.com/dr-rodriguez/M… You can run it at: mybinder.org/v2/gh/dr-rodri… or movingmast.herokuapp.com (1/4)
A super useful project with beautiful visualizations that I’m grateful to have played some small part in this #astrohackweek! ☺️

For tech, we used astroquery and pyVO to query MAST and the JPL Horizons service. Also astropy regions for some footprint calculations. And we used Bokeh and Holoviz Panel for the UI. We built it in a Jupyter notebook and deployed to binder and Heroku. #AstroHackWeek (4/4)
NOTE: This is very much a hack and *not* an official MAST product. It is not optimized and could fail to return results, but serves as a proof of concept for what one can do with the tech choices we picked. Also works better in a local notebook than online. #AstroHackWeek (3/4)
This app will construct the path a moving target takes in the specified time range and will identify observations that lie along its trajectory. Here are some nifty Bokeh figures generated for some example objects. #AstroHackWeek (2/4)

For #astrohackweek I started every day with a slide that participants could doodle on while waiting for the meeting to start. ✏️ I am delighted to report that they'll now doodle on whatever slide I put in front of them for longer than a minute or so! 🤩
It's 6am my timezone. The last #AstroHackWeek day starts in 4 hours but I can't sleep anymore. I'm just too excited to work on some finishing touches and bug fixes on our hack! :D
