Spent time on the San Pedro yesterday. 1) Upper area shows man-made #Beaver Dam Analog (BDA) & at bottom, the addition an actual BEAVER contributed! 2) Fresh chew evidence 3) Man+beaver = working: look at all that water that is STAYING in the channel & contributing to wetlands.

What an incredible time completing #beaver surveys along the Lower San Pedro River with Watershed Management Group this weekend. THIS - perennial flow and gorgeous #riparian desert habitat - is what is what we WILL lose if copper #mining comes to the San Pedro Valley.

This is SUPER exciting. My dad had this pond built at my childhood home in NW PA 5 years ago... It appears a #beaver has moved in! Dad, who passed Sept. 6, would have been SO thrilled at this development! My sis just put camera traps up to see if we can get images. 🤞
