Our new article is out! We show that cortical offset responses are not only inherited from the periphery but also amplified and de novo generated, and preventing them decreases the ability to detect sound termination. doi.org/10.7554/eLife.… @tania_barkat #BrainSoundLab @eLife

Did you know that white noise background can improve auditory perceptual skills? We show that cortical representation of tones adapts during noise by suppressing responses, thereby increasing selectivity. Hence, similar tones become easier to discriminate. cell.com/cell-reports/f…
