How so? Good competitive programming is about structured problem-solving. If it feels unstructured, maybe you’re focusing on passing test cases instead of understanding the problem.

Every time I have learnt a new data structure or algorithm, it was because I saw a problem on it in a contest. In competitive programming what you know doesn’t matter unless you know how to apply it. Don’t run after topics, you will know exactly when to learn something.
