The real problem here is making something your whole personality. Who in their right mind sees temperatures below -20 and thinks fuck yeah i need to code outside. Peak performative male/female shit. Also it's always Indians posting this kind of stuff.

They cope with shit like: "Just write disciplined code and you won't have the problems Rust is trying to solve." Just sounds like: "Just be disciplined about replacing the ice block in your ice box and you won't encounter the issues the refrigerator is trying to solve." 🤡

I don't know nothing about coding and here we have like 1 snowflake every 10 years

Stuck on a 2KLOC SQL query and I'm going nuts over it. Snowflake has some of the most weird ass one line errors that are of no help whatsoever! I'm done debugging, time to accept defeat on this one :(

just a dude reading code, writing code, reading papers, wiring code again, and *not* going on walks, shopping, coffee runs, or outside in general because the weather is actually dogshit. 10x productivity unlocked this winter :)

i don't want to hang with friendly ambitious cracked coders i want to hang with losers who are okay with having never gotten anything they wanted

you start coding and you do that for a couple of years, enough to become one with your IDE - you will eventually have an epiphany that making programs is little about the code at all, it's an art form focusing more about designing systems and how people will use them

Y’all do know being a total prick isn’t a requirement for technical competence right? Being considerate and compassionate isn’t mutually exclusive with being an excellent programmer.

I still remember one year when the website I worked for wanted to make it snow. The dev who implemented the snowing effect didn’t think to remove each snowflake from memory when it hit bottom of the screen. Just kept pushing those onto an array. You can guess the result.
