Want to know what scientists worry about? Centrifuges. 1999 incident at MIT where an ultra-centrifuge was properly loaded, brought up to 55,000 rpm, and sometime during the run, the 20 lb titanium alloy block split in half and hit the inner walls going 1000 km/hr.
