Deceptively simple from the outside, the inside is where all the action is in our computer-generated #aerospike engine. The central spike is cooled using cryogenic liquid oxygen and sits in the middle of the 3500°C hot exhaust squeezing by the throat. #ComputationalEngineering

A procedural error during the startup phase exposed it to the high temperature flame of the torch igniter without running the regen cooling from the fuel. You test and learn. Testing procedures are now also output by the #Noyron Large #ComputationalEngineering Model.
