New #coax connector? No. This is a great example of the importance of #waterproofing cable connections. This was the feed to a #discone antenna which has been in the air for 10 years. I use #amalgum tape. Not cheap but cheaper than having antenna & rig failures. #hamradio

Why would you use a #discone #antenna for #hamradio? They offer no gain. But they do offer wide frequency coverage for #VHF and #UHF. One antenna might work well for you for #2meters, #222MHz, #70cm, #33cm and #23cm. They’re also great for #monitoring all VHF/UHF bands!
