What people think? -- from our Keynote Dialogue at Data Power Conference, Bremen Germany #DataPower2022
Starting the day at #DataPower2022 presenting “Big Data in criminal investigations - European imaginary and orientations for the future”. My last time in @DataPowerConf was in Bremen. Today from home, but grateful to have the opportunity to join this amazing conference!
Excited to present our paper this Thursday in the "Data, place and space" session #DataPower2022 @DataPowerConf. Such a great event and a tremendous organisational effort across three locations! Too bad I can't join Bremen in-person, just online but then across all places.
Next on @fabriciobarili on work place surveillance and his research on two platforms that monitor and control every (non-)interaction of employees with their computers. #TeamBremen #DataPower2022
BOOK LAUNCH has started (in person in Bremen)! New Perspectives in Critical Data Studies! #DataPower2022 Tweet: TeamSheffield
#DataPower2022 has come to a close. We had three fantastic days across three locations and online that demonstrated that such a hybrid format is possible and perhaps the future of sustainable and inclusive conference organisation. Thanks to everyone involved!
And then we continued the dialogue(s) with some beer, wine and aperol. Over to #TeamOttawa now! #DataPower2022 #TeamBremen
Fascinating work from @ItzelleMed at @DataPowerConf on how data practitioners view the flows and use of health data. Combination of very optimistic rhetoric about the quality and power of health data with evidence of more skeptical (and painful) beliefs in their own work.
On tomorrow's Critical Administrative Data Panel, @marleetichenor also reflects on the implications of 'leaving no-one behind' in the #SDGs. #DataPower2022
The panel continues with @StevensMarthe and Andrew Hofman who present #SphereTransgression as a conceptual (and actual) tool. They also provide valuable reflections on their methodology. Tweet: TeamBremen #DataPower2022
Day 2 of #DataPower2022 started with an in-person panel in #Bremen on #discourses about data power and an online panel on #data, #place and #space. Tweet: TeamBremen
Closing talk for this excellent panel by @lucypei314 on data practices and data work of community organising. #DataPower2022
just love the image analysis Jeroen Bakker, @kfvanes & Daan van Weijden captured to illustrate imaginaries of the IT industry in their discourse on data centers. #DataPower2022
Also on our #DataPower2022 Critical Administrative Data Panel (online), @marleetichenor will reveal funders' interests in categories and disaggregation in the #SDGs

What do we mean when we say, we create learning opportunities for students through engagement w. societal sectors? A question we heard frequently during conversations #Datapower2022 - here, student Eliza Hobo @UniUtrecht speaks about her experience: uu.nl/en/education/i…
Thank you @juliane_jarke. It was pleasure working with all of you and listening to #DataPower2022 presentations!
Had a great time at #DataPower2022, fantastic talks, hybrid was seamless, and got to present at my first conference! Thanks to all the organisers and everyone involved for such a stimulating few days
DAY 3 of #DataPower2022. Now hosted by #TeamOttawa. All listening to the third keynote of the conference that kicks off in-person panels in Ottawa.
It was great to have this hybrid book launch at the #DataPower2022 conference with all of you - thanks! And the book "New Perspectives in Critical Data Studies. The Ambivalences of Data Power" at @PalgraveCultMed is #OpenAccess. You can download it here: link.springer.com/book/10.1007/9…

What people think? -- from our Keynote Dialogue at Data Power Conference, Bremen Germany #DataPower2022
This afternoon’s #admindata panel will open with an overview of administrative data, through its construction as #wellbeingdata. I’ll be arguing for ‘following the data’ as a methodology for critical data studies #DataPower2022
Next on @fabriciobarili on work place surveillance and his research on two platforms that monitor and control every (non-)interaction of employees with their computers. #TeamBremen #DataPower2022
Thanks to all #DataPower2022 conference organizers, and also thanks to all participants to make it more interesting.
We had a fantastic keynote dialogue at #DataPower2022 Bremen with @linnetelwin @aserebrenik @georgehiroshi @saxena_akrati Entering & exploring a dialogue about different (potential) boundary concepts between disciplines and their generative friction. Thanks so much to the panel!
What are your learning points and experiences of our hybrid conference? #DataPower2022
Day 3 of #DataPower2022. @FiekeJ kicking off BP7 "Data Power Relations and Control" with a talk about #data legitimacy and the justification of #police power. #TeamBremen
Hooray so we’re the DISCO panel of #DataPower2022. How Friday night (in the UK)!
Third learning point from #DataPower2022: Regional hubs may reduce travel costs thus allowing also researchers with less institutional funding to participate in person. #TeamBremen
Second learning point from #DataPower2022: Several regional hubs are more inclusive as they allow people who want to participate in-person to choose the location with best/less complicated visa requirements for them. (2/n) #TeamBremen
And then we continued the dialogue(s) with some beer, wine and aperol. Over to #TeamOttawa now! #DataPower2022 #TeamBremen

First learning point: Participating at an in-person event of a hybrid conference requires to collectively decide which panels to screen /follow, rather than individually. Ignites interesting conversations. Tweet: TeamBremen #DataPower2022
